Back to school!

Carson had his first day back to school a few weeks ago. He is officially a kindergartner! My sweet baby boy is growing up way to fast.

He has started school at a new school. Its actually the school that I attended. It's so nice having him at Tattnall. So far, the school year is off to a wonderful start. I can't wait to see what this school year has in store for him. This year he will start math & reading & he is hopeful about the upcoming school year. He is super excited about all of the outside class room activities (science lab, computer lab, music, art, library & P.E. classes). His teachers are doing a wonderful job of documenting the school year for us. They have created a shutterfly webpage and are regularly posting pictures of their day to day activities.

Cooking with Carson

My little Carson loves to help in the kitchen, so naturally, we got him his first cookbook! We purchased the Paula Deen's My First Cookbook and we love it.

The recipes are super simple and have great illustrations for children. So far we have made the Fruit Kabobs and M&M Cookie Pops.

Carson had an amazing time gathering all of the ingredients and setting up an assembly line to help him complete the recipe! I just love cooking w/ Carson and look forward to cooking every recipe in this book with him!

Happy 4th of July!

We have a had a great time celebrating the 4th of July with all of our family! We started off our celebrations last weekend for an early 4th get together for all of our distant family members that we never get to visit with. I didn't get a lot of pictures of this event just a few cute ones of Carson & Cooper enjoying the outdoors.

We followed up the celebration by a fun day at Lane Packing a local Peach Orchard/farm. Carson had a blast on the water slide and Carson had a blast playing w/ his Nana.

On Sunday we went to Church & then had a lunch with Brian's family followed by an afternoon at the pool!

Then we headed over to Bass Pro Shop for their summer camp. Carson had a great time shooting the bow & arrow and fishing.

We had a wonderful 4th and had some much needed family time. Carson has been visiting with other family members this month so it was nice to have him back at home! Now it's time for us to get ready for the beach!!!!

Carson's Summer & Dinner Idea

My oldest son, Carson has been a little traveler this summer. He has hardly been at home and I have missed him so much! He is off again tomorrow to spend the week with his cousin at their grandparents house. Good thing they live only 30 mins north of us. I don't think I can handle another week of not seeing my sweet little man! Carson is really enjoying his summer travels and we have an upcoming beach trip to look forward to, but I must admit I miss the every day routine during the school year. This year Carson will be entering K5 in a new school and we are excited about what is in store for us this year.

While Carson is away, Brian & I are trying out new recipes of things Carson would not typically eat. Here is the Cheesy Taco Mac that we had last week. We had this with a salad and it was super yummy! I love this blog. She has some of the best recipes. Now the hard thing is, what are we having this week?

Memorial Day Weekend!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! We had a wonderful time hononoring our service Men & Women with lots of friends and family! Among our list of fun activities was a lot of swimming, eatting and enjoying the company of those who served in our great military! We had a busy Memorial Day. We started the weekend off with a end to our Tball season. We had our team party with a cook out and play time with friends. We had a great team this year and our coaches will be hard to top in the years following. Carson is so super proud of his trophy!

While Brian was out playing golf Monday morning, Cooper learned that he can sit on his own! He sat in the kitchen watching me cook these yummy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bars that I found earlier last week over here. These were super easy and oh so yummy! I made a double batch and I'm so glad that i did because they were gone before the cookout was over!

Cooper also went swimming for the first time and loved it! He loves floating around in the water and Carson enjoyed helping him spalsh around.

Carson should be a fish! He looks forward to swimming all summer long and will start his private swimming lessons next week!

Oh the joys of summer with my sweet boys! Too bad I have to head off to work!

New Year, Busy Start

Happy New Year to everyone! I want to start off the new year by documenting our family's life and adventures! What a great time to get started. Just a little info about our family (whom is all still sleeping early on this cold Sunday morning)... I am married to my best friend in the world, Brian. I am so lucky to have Brian in my life. He is such a wonderful husband and father to my two children, Carson (5) and Cooper (2 months). This week is an exciting week for us... B has to return to work after being off for more than 2 weeks for Christmas Break, Carson has to return to school, & Cooper starts daycare. I returned back to work after an extended maternity leave, 2 weeks ago, but now it's time for the entire family to get back into the swing of a normal (but busy) life. This morning, we are headed off to Church and once we return, we have tons of cleaning to finish up, we have to get all of the babies clothes, bottles, etc, labeld & packed up for his first week at nursery/daycare & we have to get ready for a bible study group that we are meeting with tonight. Our Bible Study group is new for us and we are currently meeting every other Sunday. This will be our 2nd meeting. We have a busy day ahead of us, so I guess I need to go and start waking up everyone in the house so we can have breakfast and get dressed for Church. I work at our Church part time so we need to get there around 8 (did I mention that it's already 7 am and I just decided to start blogging?). Hope you all have a great day!
